Methi Matar Malai


Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh fenugreek leaves (methi), washed and chopped

  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  • Wash the fenugreek leaves thoroughly and chop them finely. Keep them aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  • Add chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.
  • Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Sauté for a minute.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and red chili powder. Mix well
  • Add green peas and chopped fenugreek leaves to the pan. Mix everything together and cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame.
  • Add salt to taste and mix well.
  • Add fresh cream to the pan and mix everything together. Cook for another 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  • Once the dish is cooked, turn off the flame and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Serve hot with roti, naan, or steamed rice.

  • You can use frozen green peas if fresh ones are not available.
  • Always use fresh fenugreek leaves for best results.
